Moving to Greensboro

Now that I'm a little more settled in Greensboro, I can tell y'all more about my road trip here.

I have to say it's been quite an adventure. I had an eight-teen hour drive with a small dog, a cat and an awesome friend who dealt with my grumpiness throughout the drive. It made the trip so much better having someone with me! I wouldn't change anything. Crazy memories I will never forget. Especially when I drove a uhaul through Loretta Lynn's ranch. I probably shouldn't have done that but it was worth the some of the scary moments and crazy looks as we drove by other cars on a small road out. The views were beautiful. I have never seen anything like it before. Although, I was slightly terrified when I had to drive down a huge mountain with my uhaul, but we survived. If you have the chance to take a road trip, Tennessee has some beautiful views. Just make sure you find a good hotel to stay. I also got to see the huge peach sculpture in Gaffney, South Carolina. I have to say when I got here I was overwhelmed and slightly scared, but its something huge. So I guess it's a normal reaction to feel that way at first.

Now, I am pretty much settled in my house. I keep adjusting things as time passes. On the days I choose to stay home from the studio(not very much) I'll read and do things around the house to make it feel more homely. Classes are what I thought they would be, very intense. I don't know how people can retain so much information. I guess it just takes time. The animals are doing well and have adjusted nicely to the house.

Georgia
Stopped in Georgia to visit a friend on the way and they took us to see Stone Mountain. We didn't get to climb because it was so late but the area around the mountain was beautiful too!

The Move & A Baby Blanket

Hello fellow bloggers sorry I haven't posted in a while. I know I'm no frequent updater, but it has been a lot longer than I'd like. I just haven't really had the time to make much since I've been busy with moving. I am about to start school, so I will have no reason not to post updates more often. I will be working a lot more.

Any who, I am here in my new home in Greensboro, North Carolina preparing for grad school WOOT!! It is exciting & scary at the same time. I wont have much time to think about it once school starts, though.

I do have something to post today. I've been working on this for a while, while I could in the process of moving. I made another baby blanket for a friend. She has always been a huge fan of Pokémon. So it was only fitting to make it with here favorite Pokémon, lapras, pidgeot, arcanine, & blastoise.

The process

Everything is hand stitched.
No sewing machine on this blanket.

The finished product!

Just putting ties in so the batting wont move as much.

Ravish

Well it's Tuesday and I'm at home. My knee is kicking my butt today. So, while I'm trying to stay off of it for the day I thought I should be productive with my free time.

My post today involves a mini watercolor I completed sometime last week. I was going to do it this weekend, but I get easily distracted like any other artist haha.
In case y'all didn't know, I love patterns and text. So, why not put them together. I was inspired by a color palette from the 50's while searching through patterns. I wanted the word to be something you wouldn't expect for the pattern. My awesome friend, Elaine, helped me come up with choosing the right word. She knows how much I love the word, Ravish. As soon as she said it, I was like that's it! That's the one!
On that happy note, here is my small work and its process.
